Charlotte Rooftop Bars: Four Views Worth Choosing On Purpose

Compare an Uptown skyline terrace, two neighborhood brewery roofs, and a South End seafood rooftop before the view decides the whole night for you.

Charlotte rooftop bars do not all serve the same night. Pick the skyline, neighborhood, food, and pace first. Then check the weather before you leave.

For the Uptown skyline

Merchant & Trade is the view-first choice on the 19th floor of the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel. It has an indoor bar, outdoor terrace, private terrace, lawn, and rooftop kitchen. The room is 21 and over, with regular seating first come, first served.

For Plaza Midwood

Whiskey Warehouse puts a rooftop above a classic American pub and keeps the roof open latest on Friday and Saturday. Choose it when the table wants burgers, beer, and cocktails rather than a hotel-lounge night.

For beer in NoDa

The Chamber is Wooden Robot's NoDa taproom and the brewery's only Charlotte room with a rooftop. It is a straightforward beer stop on East 36th Street, and it closes on Mondays.

For seafood in South End

The Waterman Fish Bar has an 80-seat rooftop called Topside above the main seafood room. The roof keeps its own hours and seats guests first come, first served.

A rooftop listing does not promise rooftop access. Weather, private events, and separate roof hours can change what is open even when the venue below is serving normally.

Official venue pages were checked through October 4, 2026. Bar Fly is not included because its first announced Camp North End run ended in September and a new season has not been confirmed.
